About Moonshot Farm

  • We’re a midsized commercial production cut flower farm in central NJ. We grow over 100 varieties of flowers year-round, including around 3 acres of dahlias.
  • We are a licensed nursery in the state of NJ and our dahlia tubers have been inspected and certiifed.

Pick-Up and Shipping

  • Tuber pick-up dates will be announced in early April and will likely be Sundays in late April to early May, depending on weather conditions.
  • For an additional fee, you can add shipping - please select shipping costs based on whether you are East or West of the Mississippi. Incorrectly categorized shipping will be charged via invoice plus 10% administrative fee.
  • Tubers will ship in April and May, starting in warmer zones as possible, and depending on weather conditions. We cannot ship dahlias during freezing conditions.

About the Dahlias and Tubers

  • We grow 50+ varieties of dahlias, all of which are stunner cut flower varieties.
  • The majority of our dahlias are ball varieties with some decorative and dinner plate types.
  • We aren’t the best at labeling our tubers as they’re dug, which is why we’re offering a mystery sale this year.
  • All orders will include a list of the dahlias we grow on our farm to help you identify your plants.
  • Most of our dahlia tubers are "mini clumps" with 2-3 tubers rather than individual single tubers; if you know how to divide dahlias, you will be able to divide them for many additional plants!

Please Read: Disease Disclosure & Plant Health

  • All of the dahlia tubers in the sale have been grown on our farm for at least one year. Our initial stock was purchased originally from American and Dutch farmers.
  • Like all large-scale production farms, we have had occasional instances of disease (including gall and virus) on our farm. Diseased plants are culled at the time of discovery. We mechanically plant and dig our dahlias, and we do not use systemic insecticides on our farm, so the risk of disease can never be zero.
  • All dahlia tubers have undergone a 3-step inspection process (at the time of digging, at the time of dividing, and at the time of packing).
  • We’re offering our dahlias at a very low wholesale cost, and we are not offering any guarantees regarding disease, plant failures, etc. This is the same dahlia stock we grow on our farm with high rates of success. Purchase and grow at your own risk.
  • If you’re extremely worried about dahlia diseases, this probably isn’t the sale for you. If you’re comfortable with a small risk of disease and excited for the chance to grow your dahlia collection with inexpensive tubers, welcome!
  • Diseases in dahlias can be introduced at any time, often after planting, and are transmitted via soil and insects. To reduce the risk of dahlia disease in your own garden, we recommend rotating where you plant your dahlias each year and culling suspicous plants.

Happy growing!

  • Returns and Refunds
